Sachs,  3 minutes:  "Now we run the world . . . encouraged by Henry Luce who proclaimed "The American Century" That can go to your head. . . . you begin to believe, That's divine providence.  And even evangelical religious impulse this idea that America is the chosen country to run the world. . . .

There is no monopoly of science, of technology; it is spread throughout the world.

US got to dominance via WWII, but now there is no longer that competitive strength.

11:  That "America stands alone astride the world"  was always arrogant, frankly, obnoxious. Now it is anachronistic, but the think-tanks, the MIC, the universities don't get it, they still think American Economic, political, military and ecological dominance is sustainable. Now China is challenging that notion. One has finally to live together with others.  It's like saying to the child, Play nicely with others.  

Ukraine is a watershed in that regard: Russia is saying NO. First in a long time.

30 min:  Kagan wrote a book titled, The Jungle's Growing Back. That the "order" created by USA is unraveling.

Sachs:  he was called on that but for wrong reason, for racial reference.  Not for arrogance of "entitlement" to "right to rule."

Diesen comments on US naming of China as "threat," that US sought to confront through sanctions and other attempts to 'roll back' the developments of China.  US believes it rightfully owns the dominance on technology, scientific knowledge.

32 min: Sachs:  Huwei answered that: it developed the lithography and the other technology to develop 7 nm silicon chip. Washington had internalized the notion that development of 7nm was the "chokehold." Huwei broke through. "There is no monopoly on scientific skill, on technology, it will spread.  It does get reverse-engineered, copied, stolen -- in all directions. The idea that you keep a technological lead is naive at best.
